Rural reality check

WarningWhilst this article is nothing to do with smallholdings, I felt the need to share this with as many people as possible.

Tuesday this week (11th October 2011) a woman and her young children were travelling along a local country lane at midday. She spotted a car on the roadside and a man of about 50 and an accompanying young female of around 20. They flagged her down. The woman was dragged out of her car by her hair and thrown to the floor. The offenders stole cash, cds, a satnav and even the rings off her fingers. Not only was this incident extremely upsetting for the driver, but also her young children.

This particular lane is 100 yards from our house and our own daughters drive along it and the thought of anyone frightening them or worse leaves me sick to the stomach.
